In my last post a good friend, Kim, asked a question about the onset and actual heart attack. Please read the post in reply to her question. Please, if anyone has any questions about my experiences in the past 3 weeks do not hesitate to ask. One of the main reasons to continue this blog is doing just that, answering questions you may have.
Here's a you tube video that will show you exactly what was "installed" in my heart.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gA7_oJruzQ It's computer graphic so no "Live Operation Images". I still haven't gotten up the chops to watch those yet. But I'm sure my curiosity will lead me there soon enough.
I'm feeling rather good tonight. a complete turn-around from this morning, lemme tell ya.
Thanks all,
Much Love,
~R
Rich, Jesse is very interested in checking you out, he read the article and has all these questions on the LVAD, he is 12 so nothing grosses him out, he wants to see the scars and everything. So whenever your are ready for an onslaught of 12 year old energy let me know. He reminds me that you still owe him a Steelers game on your big screen too. He has big screen TV envy!
ReplyDeleteHeeeyyy Rich- I finally had to have one of the teenagers set me up so I could post. We are very relieved to hear you are making such progress and with such determination. You have had alot to process in a short time.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom said to tell you from experience don't try to talk your doctors into anything before they think you are ready. That's how she got her helicopter ride. She also said not to get discouraged if you aren't recovering as fast as you think you should be. She still has inverted "T Waves" after 6 years. She will show you the secret handshake if it ever stops snowing in Pennsylvania : ) They are in California for the winter.
I will save the Steve Austin jokes for my next post.
HUMOR IS A SURVIVAL TOOL!
Nat says "Hi". Actually I have a funny Natalie narrative to send you- please post a mailing address. Watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics with her was very entertaining.
Maria checks on you daily. She is preparing for her Regional Choir concert next month and getting ready to job shadow at a special school for autistic children. Oh yea- she is preparing for a trip to NYC to march in the St. Patrick's Day parade with the Clearfield High School Marching Band.
We will be down to visit when you are feeling stronger.
Sue,
ReplyDeleteAlways great to hear from you. Tell Randy and the girls I said hello and Thanks for keeping me in their thoughts. And you're right. I am Bionic. I have the LVAD pump AND the Defib. (I just got the book for the defib today. There's a hilarious section on intimacy I found both funny and scary as hell.) I'm looking forward to seeing you all sometime soon when the glacier melts. You can Email me @ rdavid330@gmail.com.
Love to hear from you n the girls. Also, I totally agree humor IS a survival as well as a recovery tool. I've been using it frequently.
Talk to you soon.
love you guys,
